Truman Pierce Spencer, 94, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away June 14, 2017. He was born September 3, 1922 to Mack and Mandy Spencer.

Truman served in the United States Army, during WWII and was a purple heart repient. He enjoyed working and spent most his working career in carpentry. Truman enjoyed talking to anyone who would listen and was a great storyteller. “If you have health and happiness, you have it all.”

He is survived by his son, Meriel Spencer and wife Paula; daughter, Sandra Talkington and husband, Dennis; son, Waymon Spencer; daughter-in-law, Jerry Spencer; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; close friend, Donna Ward; 4 sisters; 3 brothers.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma Spencer; son, Harley Spencer; and sister, Patsy.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, June 19, 2017 at the chapel of John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.

Interment to follow at Sunnylane Cemetery, Del City, OK.

So very sorry to hear of Truman's passing. You're absolutely correct in that he was a GREAT storyteller. He was the best friend my sister, Donna Ward who turns 90 on June 19, 2017, ever had. Truman made sure Donna was looked after by his son, Waymon. Such a honor to have known him.
