Raymond Ralph Liles: born a handsome male child, 9-21-1925, Warner Okla., died peacefully, 4-9-2017, Mcloud Okla. He was preceded in death by his father, William, step-father Franklin A. Haas, mother, Eller Mae Howard, sisters Yvonne Liles, Laverne Haas, Wanda Haas, brothers, Leon Haas, Gene Haas, and Bill Haas. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home. His heart held many children, Marie, William, Patsy, Randy (deceased), Tom, Jerry, Deana, Bob, Connie, Penny and Lavonna as well as numerous grand/great-grand-children, nieces and nephews.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, 1942-1946, as a boat coxswain in the pacific theater during World War II. One highlight was witnessing the Bikini Atoll atomic bomb test in 1946.
After his service he held various interesting occupations, until discovering his life’s career as a printer in 1964. He retired as the Director of the Printing and Reproduction Division of the Oklahoma Tax Commission in 1987.
He had a full and rewarding life after retirement, his life’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling and family gatherings.
The family will be greeting guest at the visitation on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. You may also come for viewing on Thursday, from 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Funeral services for Raymond will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Chapel of John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore, OK. Interment will follow at the Wynnewood Cemetery, Wynnewood, OK. Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home.
