Marcella Eleanor (Lange) Hicks, 95, passed away on May 14, 2017. Marcella was born on Apr. 6, 1922 in Fordyce, NE to John and Eleanor Lange.

Marcella worked at McDonald Douglas aircraft as a “Rosy the Riveter” during the war years. There she met her future husband of 50 years, Claude Hicks. After the war they returned to Crofton, NE to manage a restaurant. After several years, they returned to Oklahoma where Marcella became a homemaker and began her Avon Sales business that lasted over 40 years. She was also a devoted member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Marcella is survived by her 7 children, Carolyn Hicks, Claudia Verstraete & husband George, Barbara Smith & husband Johnny, Michael Hicks, Patrick Hicks, Tom Hicks & Timmie Lynne Neale & Catherine Brackett & husband Ron; grandchildren, Mary Hicks, Julia Bay, Andrew Hicks, Rachel Peterson, Sara Riley, Starlet Little, Timothy Verstraete, Robert Wilkins, & Thomas Wilkins; 7 great grandchildren; & 14 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Irvin Lange and wife Mayna and Harvey Lange and wife Cindy; brother-in-law, Jerry Hicks and wife Stella; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude Hicks in 1996; brother, Don Lange; & sisters, Erna Neild & Hilaria Timko.

There will be a Prayer Vigil at 6:30 on Thurs, May 18, 2017 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 800 NW 5th in Moore, OK. The Funeral Mass for Marcella will be held at 11:00 AM, Fri, May 19, 2017, at the same location. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.

Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
