Faye Bowman, 10:00 AM, Monday, July 10, 2017

07-Jul-2017

Faye Bowman was born to Frank and Elizabeth Johnson December 17, 1932 in Wayne County, Mississippi. She waltzed into heaven July 6, 2017, and was greeted by a host of loved ones, friends and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and thirteen of her fourteen siblings. Also preceding her in death in 1971 was her husband H.C. Bowman Jr.

To the marriage of Faye and H.C. Bowman, five children were added. Gail Cotten and husband Phil, of Norman, OK; Dr. Andy Bowman and wife Renie, of Idabel, OK; Linda Shimogawa and husband Earl, of Vancouver, WA; Donnie Bowman and wife Sherrell, of Moore, OK; and Teresa Snider and husband Greg, of Hondo, TX.

Along with twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, she is also survived by one sister, Winnie Ruth Bartlett, of Meridian, MS.

Faye was a long-time and active member of Northeast Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma. She was primarily a home-maker for her family in the Moore area where she lived all her life since her marriage to H.C. She loved family gatherings, and enjoyed providing meals for others in her circle of acquaintances and friends. Faye enjoyed telling a good story, and could easily entertain those who came in contact with her. She had a contagious smile and loved to laugh – even at herself.

She so looked forward to being rejoined with her husband H.C. in glory. She spoke often of that reunion in the past several days of her life. Now…she is right where she wanted to be.

Family will receive visitors from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, July 9, 2017, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, in Moore.  Funeral services for Faye will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 10, 2017, at Northeast Baptist Church, 905 E. Rock Creek Rd., in Norman. Interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.  Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.

Our condolences in the passing of your Momma. Ms. Faye was quite a gal! We will miss her in the early service on Sunday mornings and her gift of gab. May God wrap His mighty arms of love and comfort around you during your time of sorrow.
Our love and prayers,
Karen, Trampas, and Mrs. Roy Baker
